Partial Hospitalization Program

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a structured mental health treatment program designed for individuals who require a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy but do not need 24-hour supervision like in a full inpatient program. PHPs offer intensive therapeutic services during the day, allowing individuals to return home or to a supportive living environment in the evenings with the option of attending community meetings.

Typically, participants in a PHP attend the program several days a week for up to 8 weeks.

One of the key benefits of a PHP is its flexibility. It provides the intensity of inpatient treatment but allows participants to maintain some degree of normalcy in their daily lives. The goal of a PHP is to help stabilize individuals in crisis, develop coping strategies, and improve functioning so they can either step down to lower levels of care or continue to manage their conditions in outpatient therapy. By providing a supportive environment with access to a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, PHPs aim to empower individuals to achieve long-term mental health stability.
